The Korea Times is accepting applications for the 13th Global Korea Youth Awards with the aim of fostering respect for diversity in our society by supporting talented children from multicultural backgrounds. The awards have been rebranded from the annual Korea Multicultural Youth Awards.
The winners will be announced on Nov. 26 and the awards ceremony will take place at the Korea Press Center in December. Each winner will be awarded 1 million won and a plaque, with the Grand Prize winner receiving 2 million won.
The Minister of Gender Equality and Family Award will be presented to the most outstanding individual or group.
Applicants must either be Korean nationals with at least one foreign-born parent or foreign citizens who have resided in Korea at least three years with legal status. Children with migrant parents can also apply.
Recommended students need to provide a copy of their academic record and a recommendation letter from one of the following individuals or organizations: a school teacher, principal, head of a civic or public organization, or an embassy.
